It’s all about making theatre.
Theatre is important, and we see a need for more. That’s why we’ve started SGTC- to create more art.
Something Gained Theatre Company is a brand-new, Edmonton-based theatre company founded by Aidan Spila and Abigail LaForest. Made up of passionate emerging artists, our goal is to bring new works to the public eye, and tell the stories we want to tell.

Something Borrowed
Our company began with the graduating class of 2020 from MacEwan University’s Theatre Arts program. Our final production and graduation were eclipsed by the COVID-19 pandemic, putting a halt not only to our studies, but all our life plans after graduation. For a while, being a performance artist seemed impossible.
Something Gained
SGTC was already an idea that Aidan and Abigail were committed to. But when every theatre and gig in town had to close down, we decided to expedite the formation of our company, and do our best to fill in the void. We are currently working on several projects to bring some levity to the world- see our Projects page for more information.
